New Surgeon Joins Mercy’s Robotic-Assisted Orthopedic Surgery Team in Ardmore
Mercy’s newest orthopedic surgeon brings expertise in cutting-edge robotic-assisted surgery for patients in Ardmore. Dr. Aamir Bhimani is seeing patients now at Mercy Clinic Orthopedic Surgery – Ardmore, 731 12th Ave. NW Suite 203.
“I chose orthopedic surgery because it has the power to restore function and reduce pain. I’m passionate about providing up-to-date, evidence-based care for my patients,” said Dr. Bhimani. “The most enjoyable part of practicing medicine is seeing my patients doing well after surgery. The fact that I played a small role in their improvement makes me want to come to work every day.”
With robotic-assisted surgery, a CT scan creates a 3D model of a patient’s joint that allows the surgeon to precisely target damaged cartilage and bone. Surrounding healthy tissues are spared.
Dr. Bhimani uses the minimally invasive Mako robotic-assisted surgery system to perform partial and total knee replacements and total hip replacements. It allows him to adjust a patient’s plan during surgery as needed and provides, individualized treatment, improved surgical accuracy more natural movement and a faster recovery.
Dr. Bhimani is a graduate of Texas A&M College of Medicine and attended Baylor University Medical Center for his residency. He completed a fellowship at Houston Methodist Hospital, specializing in adult hip and knee reconstruction.
